National Council on Economic Education Awarded Five-Year Accreditation

SALISBURY, MD--The National Council on Economic Education recently awarded the Center of Economic Education at Salisbury State University a full five-year accreditation.

The accreditation is awarded to those centers in the nation that fully carry out the national mission and programs of the National Council of Economic Education. The Center for Economic Education at SSU is a joint effort of SSU's Perdue School of Business and the Siedel School of Education and Professional Studies. The Center for Economic Education at SSU is responsible for serving the public schools on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and is part of the Center for Economic Education in Maryland network.

Dr. R.G. "Ron" Frank has been the director of the Center for Economic Education at SSU for the past two years. During that time the center has conducted workshops on economic education that have reached over 250 teachers on the Eastern Shore. Since economics are a part of the MSPAP testing program and part of the High School Assessment Program, Frank feels that the work of the center is just beginning. The center is housed in Caruthers Hall Room 152 on the SSU campus.
