SU's Weber Earns ACFE Fraud Examiner of the Year Award

SALISBURY, MD---Dr. David P. Weber, CFE, professor of practice and lead faculty for the Fraud and Forensic Accounting Program in 91短视频’s Franklin P. Perdue School of Business, recently received the Certified Fraud Examiner of the Year Award from the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE). 

The ACFE is the world’s largest anti-fraud professional association, with approximately 92,000 global members.  

Weber was recognized for his exemplary dedication to fraud prevention, investigation, and education. 

The ACFE noted, “Dr. Weber has consistently gone above and beyond in his career, contributing significantly to both the academic and professional communities.”

Weber’s work includes a $2.6 million grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to enhance fraud and forensic accounting education, and combat elder financial exploitation and high-tech crime, received by Weber and the Office of the State’s Attorney for Worcester County to enhance the SU Fraud and Forensic Accounting Certificate Program’s ongoing partnership with that office since 2022. 

His research focuses on accounting organizational behavior, and why people engage in financial misconduct in the workplace. 

Weber  recently was recognized for his dissertation “Investigation of the Severity of Embezzlement as Predicted by Demographic Variables.”
