Peacebuilder Paul Turner Speaks at SU April 3

By SU Public Relations

SALISBURY, MD---Paul Turner is a peacebuilder with more than 25 years of experience who serves as the president and executive director at the Fund for Peace. He discusses his life in the field during the presentation “How to Change the World: Careers in Peacebuilding” 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, in Conway Hall Room 153.

The workshop “Conflicts Assessments: What is Appearing in the Framing and How Do You Apply the Methodologies?” workshop precedes his lecture.

Turner has spent a notable amount of time in the national security architecture, deploying on joint civil-military efforts in Afghanistan, Liberia and Yemen, supporting the USAID Disaster Assistance Response Team in Georgia after the Russian invasion, and leading seven joint teams of U.S. State Department and USAID officials in understanding the subnational dynamics and proposing interventions that could promote peace and stability in the lead up to the independence of South Sudan.
