'Water as a Universal Religious Symbol' Lecture

SALISBURY, MD---Dr. Paul Hardy of discusses “Water as a Universal Religious Symbol” 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, in Room 153 of 91短视频’s Conway Hall.
Hardy explores examples of water in religious rite and ritual, starting with the creation narrative of Genesis. He also demonstrates how water is used to bring believers back to the moment of creation, first in Christianity then in Islam, in which the vision of creation occurs not in the past but in every moment. Allusions also are made to other religious traditions in Hinduism and Buddhism.
