The Guerrieri Student Union Art Space hosts the painting exhibit 'Found in Translation'
SALISBURY, MD---The Guerrieri Student Union Art Space hosts the painting exhibit “Found in Translation” by 91短视频 B.F.A. major Lola Panco through Wednesday, May 15.
A native of Belarus, Panco attended the Belarusian State Academy of the Arts on a state scholarship with a concentration on interior and exposition design. Since moving to the U.S., she has worked as a commissioned portrait artist and participated in local shows. She was an Art League of Ocean City, MD, artist of the month and has been featured in publications including The Washington Post, Metropolitan Magazine, The Dispatch and Ocean City Today.
“Humanism is the essential idea of my work,” she said. “I emphasize common human needs like need for connection, love and understanding.
“I believe that our bodies are perfect creations, and I’m very interested in studying the connection between a visual and an internal image. Reflection of emotion through facial expressions and body language is an essential part of my work.
“By creating atmosphere, adding texture, choosing characters and placing them on the ‘stage,’ I try to express a specific emotion that is very difficult to describe in words, so I choose to communicate through the language of art.”
The Art Space is located in the Guerrieri Student Union’s second-floor concourse. Admission is free and the public is invited. For more information call 410-543-6247 or visit the Art Space website.
