'Consumers Digest' Names SU to Top 100 College Values
SALISBURY, MD---Consumers Digest has named 91短视频 one of its Top 100 College Values.
Selected from among some 2,000 U.S. campuses that offer four-year degrees, SU ranked No. 31 out of 50 public institutions spotlighted.
Published in the June issue, the rankings are “based on attributes that validate or define academic prowess factored against annual cost of tuition, fees, and room and board.” The formula blends the academic excellence of freshmen (standardized test scores, high school rank and grade point average) with the institution’s educational quality (4- and 6-year graduation rates, retention rate and percentage of Ph.D. faculty). That “value index” score was factored with cost to determine the schools that offer the most academic value per dollar.
“Expert opinions and solid recommendations are two of our strengths,” said Publisher Randy Weber. “We applied well-developed research standards and thorough analysis to this examination of our country’s higher-learning institutions to help parents and students find schools that will meet families’ performance and financial requirements.”
The University of Maryland College Park and SU were the state’s two highest ranked public campuses. The University of Delaware, Clemson University and Pennsylvania State University also made the list.
“Our analysis is designed to help families make an informed decision that puts their hard-earned money to the best use,” Weber added.
For seven consecutive years, Kiplinger’s Personal Finance has named SU one of its 100 “Best Values in Public Colleges” and, twice, among its “24 Best College Values Under $30,000 a year.” SU also has been applauded as one of the nation’s best values in public education by Washington Monthly, Forbes and Money magazines. SU consistently is one of Princeton Review’s Best Colleges and U.S. News & World Report’s Best Regional Universities in the North.
