Updated Face Mask and Travel Polices Announced for SU Employees

Dear SU faculty and staff,

As 91短视频 continues its COVID-19 precautions, please note the following:

  • Slots are still available for the next SU COVID-19 vaccination clinic 9:45 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday, June 23, in Maggs Gym.
  • Beginning Monday, July 12, based on vaccination levels and low positivity rates on campus, SU’s face mask requirement will be relaxed. At that time, masks will be required:
    • For those who are fully vaccinated
      • In classrooms
      • In areas and departments deemed to be high risk for virus spread and transmission (these areas will be contacted directly)
      • In areas and departments with high levels of vaccine non-compliance (these areas will be contacted directly)
    • For those who are not fully vaccinated
      • In all indoor areas of SU buildings (except when alone in private offices or spaces with a closed door)
      • When with others in private offices or spaces with a closed door
      • Outside when appropriate physical distancing is not possible
      • On all University transportation, including shuttle buses, athletics buses and SU vehicles (see information below regarding updated SU travel policies)
  • Mask use also will be encouraged for those:
    • With underlying health conditions who are still waiting to get vaccinated
    • Who are considered high risk for COVID-19
    • Who are attending large gatherings
    • Who are sharing space with those for whom vaccination status is unknown
    • With any additional concerns
  • You may choose to wear a mask if you wish to at other times, too, and we ask that all members of the SU community respect everyone who wishes to do so.
  • Free cloth and disposable face masks remain available from Campus Health for those who need them.
  • Please note that SU has updated its COVID-19 travel policies:
    • Those who are not compliant with the University System of Maryland COVID-19 vaccine mandate are restricted from University-sponsored domestic or international travel, and from the use of SU fleet vehicles.
    • Supervisors should email CampusHealth@salisbury.edu at least three business days in advance if needing to check records to determine an employee’s clearance for University travel.
    • To be cleared for travel, an employee must complete the SU COVID-19 Information Consent Form and be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (both shots of a two-dose vaccine or one shot of the single-dose vaccine, plus two weeks), or receive an SU-issued medical or religious exemption from the vaccine requirement.
    • These policies also apply to students who may be applying for University-sponsored travel.
  • Regular SU COVID-19 testing continues throughout the summer, and remains required to maintain campus access for unvaccinated employees and those who have been vaccinated but have not yet received the notification that they are eligible for reduced testing. Visit to schedule your next test.

Please stay safe, and thank you for continuing to do your part to #ProtectTheFlock.
